Dearly beloved,
In this divisive time, it is vital for us to find ways in which can bring peace into the midst. While many may have already voted, I know that the coming days can cause increased anxiety and concern for many.
Oftentimes, it is said that we shouldn’t mix church and politics. We even have an amendment about the Church and State. These are good ideas. And yet, it is also important to remember that our faith can guide us in our own daily lives – which includes voting.
As the church and as a pastor, we do not tell people how they should vote. I would never do this! Yet, I do encourage all to vote – it is both a right and responsibility.
I have included below some resources as well as a prayer to help guide us in the coming days. I would ask that we encourage all to hold this day in our prayers and seek ways in which we can overcome divisiveness and treat each other with love and respect.
May God guide us in the coming days with peace and hope!
peace in Christ,
Pastor Jen
