The gift of Holy Communion is the birthright of the baptized.
Trinity prepares the children for Holy Communion using the course of instruction, “Come to God’s Table”. They are taught that when baptized, God makes you part of the family we call the Church. As you grow you learn about the heavenly Father and what it means to be part of this family. You learn to love others as Jesus, who loved everybody so much that he gave his life for us on the cross. You learn how in sharing the bread and wine of Holy Communion we remember Jesus’ death and his rising to life again on the first Easter Day, and how eating the bread and drinking the wine makes us one with him and brings us closer to each other.
After completing the course of instruction, “Come to God’s Table,” the children receive Communion on Maundy Thursday, just before Easter Sunday.
