Dearly beloved,
We are getting ready for a whirlwind of a weekend. As I sit down to write this, the “pitter-patter” of feet are moving above me as things are set up for this Saturday’s Holiday Market. So much planning and work has gone into this event – so much gratitude to Lois Lawerence for overseeing it all as well as her wonderful team of servant leaders! Coming together is a sign of how God invites us to work together as the Body of Christ.
NOTE: if you haven’t already signed up to help, but are able to do so – just show up on Saturday (9am-4pm – which includes final setup and clean up) and we will put you to work! Service hours available for youth (see me to sign their forms)
We are God’s Church, the Body of Christ in God’s world! The Church is the story of how God shows up in the world. We are God’s hands, feet, eyes, heart, etc. Just as Paul writes to the Corinthians (chap. 12) that we need all parts of the body working together to live out God’s mission in the world.
Isn’t it amazing that God would choose each one of us to be at part of God’s church here at Trinity, bringing us together to share and live out the love and grace of Christ! We are truly blessed by every part of God’s Church and the ways that we live into God’s purpose for the world.
This weekend’s market is not just about selling items, but it is about how we learn to work together. It is how we can be the wonderous face of God as we interact with people from the community. It is how we share of our time and talents for something outside of our own personal lives. It is the living out of our faith for the sake of God’s mission!
So, come and claim your part in this Body of Christ! Come and share the blessing that you are! Come and receive and give of the love of Christ!
peace in Christ,
Pastor Jen
p.s. Don’t forget about World Kindness day as well – be intentional in how we share the love of God with others
