Dearly beloved,
We continue our series, looking at the Lord’s Prayer. We are diving deep into the gift of these very familiar words that we may be further enriched by them. This week, we are reflecting on “hallowed (holy) be your name”
There are a number of books that I have been reading as a part of my own reflection on this prayer. See the quote below that I shared this week on social media from one of them
May you continue to be blessed through this gift of faith
peace in Christ,
Pastor Jen
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)
Praying for the Holy Spirit: we invite you to regularly pray this prayer (or one of your choosing) as we seek to live as God’s sailboat church, seeking the Spirit to fill out sails and send us forth in mission. This prayer that has been adapted from the book for us to use as a church:
God, we trust that your will is the best thing that can happen to your/our church today. Let your will be done in everything, no matter what it is. Make us a graceful presence wherever we go. In, around, through, and in spite of us, let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Sailboat Church: Helping Your Church Rethink Its Mission and Practice by Joan S. Gray)
(NOTE: Pastor Jen still has a few copies of the “Sailboat Church” by Joan S. Gray if anyone would like to borrow or purchase a copy. Its an easy and inspiring read)
